Support for People in Tough Places

Hi everyone. Bill Strom here with Telecare Crisis and Caring Line in southern British Columbia. We're participating these coming weeks in Giving Tuesday, culminating on November 29th. It's a time for all of us to show thanks for our abundance and to support people in tough places.

Telecare is a volunteer ministry receiving about 3000 calls per year and desiring to show the compassionate love of Jesus.

We serve people like Tina, who was hurt by her parents when young and now decades later, still questions herself worth trusting, few people. She struggles to keep steady work, amidst numerous health issues.

We serve men like Mike, who lives on his own and wishes desperately to have good friends and only recently rebounded from a year of depression.

We listen to Tina and Mike to hear their stories and support them in their journeys. Through our support, they are reminded that life really is worth living together.

It's demanding, yet rewarding work to know that we're here for people who might otherwise sink even lower. And it warms our spirit when one of our callers thanks us so warmly for being there for them.

So that's who we are and that's who we serve. I hope on Tuesday, November 29 you would consider giving. Thanks so much and have a good rest of your day.
